This is my first time listening to this band. I strayed away from Black Metal for a good 10 to 15 years there until I saw Dark Funeral in concert. and now I’m back and it’s like discovering all these new bands even though a bunch of them have been doing this for a while so it’s like discovering a show on Netflix and binging the entire series
Abbath is not black metal and every album he puts out is even worse than the last. He is a shadow of his former self. He will never put out another album like sons of northernern darkness again.
Very true. The number of good black metal bands out there, both old and new, is staggering. It's hard to keep up sometimes, I feel like for every band I get into I find 5 more I want to check out. I'm not complaining though,. it's definitely exciting.
@@xx-zo9ewAbbath has elements of black metal, but I would also consider his new stuff something else, especially the lastest album. While it's tame in comparison to his first two, and obviously Immortal, it's still decent. I don't really see how it would be possible for him to best an album as great as Son's of Northern Darkness, but I wouldn't really expect him to either. I hold Abbath in such high regard that he could literally release an album of dog shit and I'd still buy it.

November 28th 2016 @ The Cleveland House Of Blues Cleveland Oh. USA i got to see opening band ONI, EXMORTUS, ABBATH, and CHILDREN OF BODOM (headlined ) while on Bodom's I WORSHIP CHAOS TOUR.
Abbath was absolutely crushing and awesome. Blackened Death Metal at it's best
